6 steps career model

Performance and results as the only criteria for promotion

You alone determine your pace and only your performance and your results can trigger your promotion to the next grade.

To support you in your progress, a specific evaluation is performed after each assignment and a full evaluation is performed twice a year. You are unique to us, which means that for each step we will help you build your personal development plan and your career.

Discover below at which grade you could start at Wight Consulting, and the incredible career that you could have with us

Partner

Partners are in charge of defining and executing both their office's and the group's strategy. They drive Wight Consulting's business through strengthening and development of clients relationships. Also, Partners are deeply involved in the projects' delivery and regularly assist clients with their experience and skills. Being a Partner in the Group means having a strong track record in leadership, in  business development and in specific industry topics. Most of all, it means representing and reinforcing our values.

Director

The constant goal of Wight Consulting directors is to develop strong relationships with clients across a wide range of topics, from the quality of delivery to the identification of new project opportunities, both at local and international level. As part of the company's senior management, they mentor Managers and Senior Managers, and manage major internal projects in the fields of HR, Marketing and Knowledge Management.  Last but not least, directors are challenged to be one of Wight Consulting ambassadors, demonstrating their sector expertise internally and externally.

senior manager

As a Senior Manager, you will be increasingly involved in building and maintaining the strategy and identity of your office. You will manage client relationships autonomously within a defined scope, and you will participate in defining and developing new offers. Being a Senior Manager involves a strong sector expertise in several areas and an exposure at group level, not only on assignments but also on your knowledge and skills in management.

Manager

The Manager role is one of the most challenging and stimulating in our company. Not only you will have responsibility for managing delivery on one or more projects, but also you will start mentoring consultants, one of the most important activities in our company. This will require being a role model, making yourself available and being fair. On projects, as you will manage part of the client relationship, you will also be involved in the sales process, especially in terms of managing internal resources to ensure our reactivity.

Senior Consultant

The Senior Consultant will go through two major phase. During the first phase, you will focus on mastering all the core capabilities of consulting  and on acquiring autonomy in delivery. This concerns assignments as well as sales proposals. During the second phase, you will develop management skills to become a Case Leader, last step before becoming a Manager. As a Case Leader, you will organize your own work streams, and potentially other consultants' within your projects. At this stage, you will also be expected to develop the quality and the impact of your relationship with clients.

Consultant

As a Consultant, your main objective will be to develop your core consulting skills, demonstrating your reliability and rigorousness in project delivery. You will be asked to perform market analysis, to analyze client information and data, and to help your team deliver insights and solutions for the client.  You will rapidly develop knowledge in some of the industry’s hot topics and also master some of the core capabilities of consulting.

Improve with us

At Wight Consulting, your potential will only be limited by your talent and ambition. You will be given the support and resources you require to progress every day, but you will be expected to be the main generator of your progress.

Sector expertise

The Wight Institute, our international Knowledge Management Center, is dedicated to focused sector research and expertise building.  The structure is managed by a Director, supported by a team of Managers and Consultants, but everyone in the company contributes actively to content, and you will be challenged to make your own contribution.

Hard skills

Capability Management, also called hard skills, is managed by the WEM (Wight Excellence and Methodologies) team. WEM develops training courses on basic skills (such as story lining, slide writing and business modeling) and advanced methodologies (innovation management, customer segmentation, churn management,…). WEM also provides all consultants with the tools (such as our PowerPoint toolbar and analytical tools) to facilitate the day-to-day work.

Soft skills

Wight Consulting offers its consultants at least eight soft skills training days, per employee and per year. Subjects vary from people management to sales approaches and communication training. Some of these sessions are "Must Haves"as they are mandatory skills for a promotion.
